THE LIVE PROGRAM
Even experienced professionals can miss what matters
You already know how to solve problems, ask good questions, and get things done. But when a request sounds clear, the answer feels familiar, or the work is already moving, an assumption, expectation, or piece of context can surface too late.
That’s what Stop Solving Too Soon is about. Recognize what may still be missing before it changes the work, decide what deserves another question, and know when you have enough to move.
An 8-week interactive live cohort experience for consultants and technology professionals who turn stakeholder requests into delivered solutions.
Next live public cohort: February 2027
It’s a money maker.
The skills cultivated in this course are the difference between a client wanting to do more work with your organization and seeing the relationship as purely transactional.
— Tony Bagdy, President, Lyric Solutions
WHY THIS MATTERS
The misses aren’t always obvious
Solving too soon can look like good work at first. The cost often shows up later.
-
You delivered exactly what was scoped. The work was sound. But something about the timing, communication, rollout, or stakeholder expectations wasn’t fully understood, so the result didn’t land the way it needed to.
-
Everything seemed aligned. The kickoff went well. Then somewhere between the start and the finish, something shifted: a priority, an assumption, a definition nobody stopped to clarify. By the time it surfaced, the work was far enough along to make changing course harder.
-
You delivered exactly what was asked, and you delivered it well. But somewhere between the request and the solution, the real problem never surfaced.
What these misses have in common is that something important didn’t surface before the work moved forward.
ABOUT UNCOVER™
So how do you stop solving too soon?
The practice is simple: Pause. Scan. Decide.
Pause long enough to keep momentum from deciding for you. Scan for what may still be missing. Decide whether any of it could materially change what happens next.
The approach is simple. The skill is knowing where to look, what deserves attention, and when you have enough to move.
UNCOVER™ gives you somewhere to look.
UNCOVER is a practical set of lenses that helps you find what may still be missing. It’s deliberately lightweight, so you can use it in the flow of a conversation, at an important checkpoint, during a handoff, or anytime something feels worth another look.
Over eight weeks, you’ll practice in realistic stakeholder situations and in your own work.
Weekly live sessions.
Eight 90-minute interactive sessions focused on discussion, examples, realistic stakeholder scenarios, and applying the approach.
Applied practice that builds the habit.
Between sessions, you’ll use short prompts and practical exercises to spot gaps in your current work, then bring what you find back for reflection, feedback, and discussion.
Tools you’ll keep using
A practical reference with talk tracks and tools you can return to when you need to pause, look again, or work through a stakeholder situation.
Peers who sharpen your thinking.
Learn alongside other experienced professionals. Compare what you notice, hear how others approach the same situation, and get better at seeing what you might have missed on your own.
WHAT TO EXPECT
An instinct you develop, not a course that you watch
Practical tools you can apply from day one, in your real work, alongside peers doing the same. You’ll practice spotting gaps that could change the work, deciding what deserves attention, and knowing when you have enough to move forward.
Realistic Call Debriefs
Before select sessions, you’ll listen to realistic stakeholder conversations, bring your observations to the group, and compare what you noticed with what others caught. It’s a chance to practice spotting assumptions, missing context, expectation gaps, and other clues that could change the work.
What changes when you stop solving too soon
It’s what you do differently. In the meetings already on your calendar. In the projects on your plate.
In the work you're known for a year from now.
-
✺
You catch what matters earlier.
You still feel the pull to move. But now you notice when something deserves a pause. The clarifying question you used to think of after you hung up, you ask in the meeting. The assumption you used to uncover later, you surface before it becomes the plan. -
✺
You earn stakeholder trust
Things just feel easier. You're setting expectations and clearing up assumptions sooner, so there are fewer late nights and fewer surprises. You stay aligned with your stakeholder at every step. The work feels better. So does the relationship.
-
✺
You deliver work that lands.
You earn a reputation for delivering the right and right-sized solution. You aren’t the person who delivers what was asked. You’re the one who finds what wasn’t.
Stakeholders stop giving you tasks and start bringing you problems.
Practice live in interactive group sessions
I’ve spent more than two decades at the intersection of sales and technology, first teaching consultants how to uncover client needs and later leading complex CRM and technology delivery work myself. That experience shaped Stop Solving Too Soon and UNCOVER™.
The live program is highly interactive. You’ll work through realistic situations, hear how other experienced professionals approach them, contribute to the discussion, and get coaching and feedback as you apply the ideas to your own work.
Jodi Hrbek, Program facilitator and author of Stop Solving Too Soon

FAQS
Things you might be wondering
-
The live program is designed for professionals who turn stakeholder requests, problems, and ideas into delivered solutions. That includes consultants, solution architects, business analysts, project and product professionals, admins, implementation specialists, customer success professionals, and internal delivery teams.
Your title matters less than the work itself. If you are responsible for understanding what someone needs, making decisions with incomplete information, and helping turn that into a solution, the program is designed for you.
-
Yes. Experience gives you valuable pattern recognition. It can also make a familiar request feel familiar enough that you start solving before everything that could change the work has surfaced.
The program helps experienced professionals sharpen their judgment about when something deserves another look, what is worth pursuing, and when they know enough to move. Newer professionals can build those instincts earlier in their careers.
-
It focuses on the judgment behind delivery conversations. What may still be missing? What could materially change the work? What deserves another question? When do you know enough to move?
The program draws on Jodi Hrbek’s experience training consultants, leading sales enablement and CRM organizations, and working directly in complex technology delivery. The practices were shaped by seeing technically sound work create less value than it could because important context, assumptions, expectations, or alignment surfaced too late.
-
No. The live program stands on its own. You do not need to have read the book or be familiar with UNCOVER™ before the first session.
The book and live program are built around the same ideas, but they serve different purposes. The book introduces the thinking, explains the ideas in depth, and gives you practical ways to apply them. The live program gives you a place to practice that thinking through realistic situations, discussion, coaching, and your own work.
-
The program includes eight 90-minute live virtual sessions, plus approximately 30–60 minutes of applied practice between sessions.
Much of that practice is designed to happen in the work you’re already doing. You’ll use the ideas in active projects, stakeholder conversations, and delivery decisions throughout the program rather than completing traditional homework.
-
Absolutely. Organizations often send several team members through the same public cohort so they can build a shared way of thinking and bring the ideas back into their work together.
Teams enrolling three or more participants also receive a private Leader Enablement Session to help managers understand what the team is practicing and reinforce it through follow-up questions, project conversations, and coaching.
Organizations can also add private team sessions focused on current projects and stakeholder situations, or host a dedicated private cohort.
-
No. Jodi’s examples sometimes draw from her experience leading Salesforce, CRM, and technology initiatives, but the ideas apply across platforms and delivery environments.
The live program is designed for consultants and technology professionals who turn stakeholder requests, problems, and ideas into delivered solutions, whether they work in Salesforce, ServiceNow, HubSpot, Workday, Microsoft, another platform, or no single platform at all.
The challenge is broader than any technology. It is recognizing what may still be missing before it changes the work.
-
Yes. Many participants use professional development, team learning, or department budgets to attend.
If you need approval, Jodi can provide a manager-ready summary of the program, business outcomes, time commitment, and cost that you can forward internally. She’s also happy to speak directly with your manager about whether the program is a good fit for you or your team.
